MSc Position: Stereoscopic Imaging & Visual Odometry for Robotic Catheters
Description
This MSc position focuses on developing an MR-compatible stereoscopic imaging system and visual odometry algorithms for robotic catheters in minimally invasive interventions. You will design and integrate micro stereo cameras, build imaging pipelines, and develop algorithms to fuse camera odometry with MR-based tracking.
Successful applicants will gain experience in:
- Medical imaging and stereoscopic vision
- Visual odometry and SLAM algorithms
- Image processing and GPU-based computing
- Integration of hardware and software for robotic systems
Education & Experience
Applicant should
- have background in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Biomedical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- have motivation for research in medical robotics
- have good communication skills in English
- be able to work on-site at METU Ankara
Desirable skills include:
- Image processing and computer vision (Python, OpenCV, MATLAB)
- Programming (C++, Python, ROS)
- CAD design (optional)
- GPU programming (optional)
